What is Family Financial Mediation?

If you have an equitable distribution (dividing marital property) case, you will usually attend family financial mediation with a mediator you and your attorney choose. Here is a helpful guide to mediation and a list of documents that are helpful to bring to your attorney for mediation in order to get your case resolved

How can I access my court file?

North Carolina court files are now online and accessible to parties by setting up an account and accessing the online Portal. Your attorney can also create and share a client portal for you to view or share documents with your attorney - just ask.

How do I pay my court costs & fines?

After your attorney disposes of your case, if you have any fines or court costs to pay you can do so at the court house in person or online!

What is Child Custody Mediation?

If you have a child custody or visitation case, you will usually attend a Child Custody Mediation Orientation to get an overview of the process, followed by a session with a child custody mediator to see if a parenting plan can be agreed upon. This orientation booklet explains the process.
